“Thank you Kendra!!
I am a member of Fiusion Fittness in Santa Rosa, for the last couple years. I love to take Body Pump, Spinning Classes given by Kendra.
Three months ago I started having pain in my shoulder, the pain caused me to cut back on my visits to the gym and exercising in general. I felt descouraged since I was not able to excersice like before.
After 3 months of this pain I decide to take the Body Pump class, fortunatly right before the class was going to start I spoke to Kendra about my shoulder, and Kendra took the time to listen to me. Kendra said the pain was not going to go away unless I have to do a specific excercises. That day after class she helped me with excercises that helped a lot.
After performing the excersice I felt a signifiicant reduction of pain. By the end of the day I was able to move my arm and different directions!!!
When I was experiencing the shoulder pain I had mix feelings, I thought maybe it is realted with age or just an injury, but now I feel much better and I am very happy that I talked to her and very greatful that she was able to help me. Since then my my shoulder is doing way better.
I highly recommend kendra as a personal and group fitness coach. Kendra loves what she does and she is fun and energetic.
Thanks again you are the best,
I am so grateful to be in the Health & Fitness Industry. Personal Training has been my profession for most of my adult life, and I love what I do! I went into this industry for three reasons. One, because I love fitness, two, because I love to teach, and three, because I love people. There is nothing like being strong and healthy, being able to do everyday chores with ease, feeling good, looking good, having lots of energy, and keeping sickness at bay. My training as a college graduate in Health & Physical Education taught me the skills to teach. And I am definitely a people person, one who truly enjoys the company of others. When I see the physical and emotional changes people make when they begin to reap the benefits of getting fit, I know I made the right career choice. This is what inspires me to work with my clients.
In the late 1990′s, I decided I needed to help coach people with their nutrition choices, as fitness and nutrition are so intertwined. In 2002, I discovered a school that fit the way I saw nutrition, so I took a two year course which certified me in Holistic Nutrition from Bauman College. I have counseled over 150 people since then, and in 2008, I passed a rigorous test to become Board Certified in Holistic Nutrition. I have a non-dogmatic approach to nutrition that is highly individualized and result-oriented. When we are eating well and being active, we will enjoy great health!
I have been an athlete all of my life. I was swinging a golf club at the age of 4 and skiing by the age of 9. Hiking and camping also were a part of my young life and it has carried through to the present. I played every competitive sport I could in High School and College (Field Hockey, Basketball, Volleyball, Softball and Track & Field) and learned what it meant to be a team player. Over the years, I have learned from my clients on how to cooperate, how to share, and how to listen. I am a partner in their health and we work together to reach their goals. This is how I like to work with my clients.
I like working out in a gym, but I also really enjoy the outdoors. Golf and skiing (both cross country skating and downhill) are still tops on my list, but I also enjoy in-line skating, hiking, camping and cycling as my recreational sports. I live with my partner in Santa Rosa and we share several of these activities together. I have a beautiful six year old Chihuahua/Corgi mix dog who keeps me on my toes and who is an athlete in her own right. My intellectual pursuits include reading, listening to and playing music, attending workshops for fitness and nutrition, going to the theater, movies, gardening, road trips, cooking, and eating good food in the company of others. I have worked in the gym and outdoors with clients including teaching skating, golf, running and cycling. I have also run boot camp style workouts outdoors, a favorite of mine. There are many ways to get fit, and variety keeps it interesting!
Over the years, I have worked with many clients, young and old, men and women, all different ethnic groups, all fitness levels, and many different personalities. I thank them all for helping to shape me into the trainer I am today. I have often said, “Everything I learned in life, I have learned from my clients.” It’s true. We influence each other in very profound ways. We are role models for each other, we set examples for each other, and how we choose to do that makes a world of difference. The better we feel and the healthier we are, the more positive we can be towards each other. And that’s what makes us and the world a better place!
